Soundbaths

What is a soundbath?

A sound bath is a guided, meditative experience in which you are immersed in the resonant tones of live instruments which most commonly includes crystal or Tibetan singing bowls, along with gongs, chimes, drums and other acoustic tools. You don't need any prior experience with meditation or mindfulness. You simply lie down, close your eyes, and let the sound do the work.

The term "bath" refers to being bathed in sound waves, not water. These acoustic vibrations interact with the nervous system in ways that research is beginning to explore — including measurable reductions in heart rate, tension, and stress hormones. Think of it as a reset for your mind and body, using nothing but sound.

What to Expect

Indoor yoga or meditation space with stacked cushions, pillows, and blankets on a hardwood floor, illuminated by yellow candles, with bookshelves and closed doors in the background.

You'll arrive to a calm, dimly lit space set up for comfort. Mats, pillows, blankets and eye masks are provided. However, if you would like to bring personal comfort items they are welcome! Once everyone is settled, I'll guide you through a brief grounding exercise to help you arrive fully. Then the sound begins.

Sessions typically last 45-60 minutes. For most of that time, you won't need to do anything at all — no mantras, no poses, no focused breathing. Some people drift into a sleep-like state. Others remain quietly aware. Both are completely normal and equally valuable. Afterward, there's time to rest and gently reorient before you head back into your day.

Common Results and Experiences

Everyone's experience is a little different, and all of it is valid. That said, some responses come up again and again. Many people feel a noticeable release of physical tension — particularly in the jaw, shoulders, and chest. Others describe a floating or weightless sensation, vivid imagery, or a deep emotional stillness that's hard to find in everyday life.

In the hours and days that follow, participants often report better sleep, a quieter inner dialogue, and a general sense of ease. For some, one session is enough to feel a shift. For others, the benefits deepen with regular practice. There is no right way to experience a sound bath — only your way.
